Trusting ourselves to make big decisions can sometimes feel overwhelming. At times we want someone else to give us the answer or in some way permission to make big decisions which leads us to feel like we are not responsible for making the decision. There are times when it is helpful and even necessary to seek guidance from a counselor, coach, practitioner, family member, or friend but in the end guidance is good but trusting yourself is golden!
Below are ways to receive clarity to trust yourself and make the best decision for yourself. These steps connect you with God/Universe/Great Spirit, your mind, body, heart, and soul:
- Body talk/Vibes/Senses
- Attitude and Affirmations
- Signs and Synchronicities
- Resistance, Action, Freedom
Meditation of any kind connects you with God, your soul, heart, and body and it quiets the mind. Here is where you will find answers to your deepest questions. There are many forms of meditation. I always encourage my clients to get out in nature, get by the water, take off your shoes, and walk in the grass. This helps ground you.
Prayer connects you to God, your heart, soul, and mind. Prayer is incredibly powerful if you surrender and trust the process. Guidance from God, Jesus, and the angels is invaluable but God gave us free will which means we still have to make the decision in the end.
Reiki is universal life energy. Reiki 1 is self-healing. You will need to work with a Reiki Master Teacher to attune you to do Reiki 1 on yourself. Once attuned, you can do daily Reiki on yourself. This form of healing is very beneficial to the mind, body, heart, and soul!
Body talk/Vibes/Senses- being able to feel and listen to what your body is telling you will help you make the best decision for yourself. For example, if you tense up when a certain person is around you, pay attention! Where in your body is it tense…ask it why?
Attitude is so important when making the best decision for yourself. No one is ever positive all the time…that’s not realistic. What is realistic is seeing the best outcome regarding the decision you are trying to make. Literally, visualize the outcome you want to see and don’t focus on what you don’t want only on what you do want.
Affirmations are encouragement. Choose an affirmation that will help you make the best decision for yourself. I had a hard time with college math and finally started telling myself “You can do it” daily. The affirmation came from the movie The Water Boy. I know it sounds corny…but I finally got through the math class.
Signs and Synchronicities are around us more than we realize. Signs can be a feather, coin, song, conversation that seems to come out of nowhere…pay attention! Synchronicities are the Universes way of trying to get your attention and help you on your path. Coincidences don’t happen synchronicities do. Example, someone you haven’t seen in years “bumps” into you and has the exact solution to a problem you were contemplating…that’s synchronicity. There is no need to go out of your way in order for this to happen. Just pay attention.
Resistance, Action, Freedom: Ahhh…the lovely resistance that we have all faced at some point in our lives. When we get clear we really know the answer for ourselves but resistance sneaks in. Resistance is another word for fear. It keeps us stuck. If and when we can get past the underlying fear it is time to take action! Action is also incredibly scary for most of us because it usually means that change is coming. We are creatures of habit even when we know the change is for the best. If you can get past the resistance and take action you are on your way to freedom which is where you have made the best decision for yourself!
