It starts with you. World peace starts with inner peace. Inner peace is a feeling of freedom from any concerns, knowing all is well, being able to remain calm and peaceful in the midst of great turmoil. This can be challenging if you are not centered and grounded. How is one able to be at peace when their inner or outer world is turned upside down? This is where prayer, meditation, being in nature, taking the time to do something that you enjoy comes into play. What does is mean to be centered and grounded? Some center and ground themselves simply through meditation, others through prayer, while others remember that there is a loving, peaceful Universal Intelligence (aka, God) that is always with us and if we reach out to It in whatever way works best for us, It will bring us peace.
World peace will never be attained if we are at war. The world peace that we seek will happen when we realize we are all one and can find common ground and forgiveness. Peace comes from knowing that there is no one right religion, race, or way of being; and accepting people for who they are. We are all on our own unique path and if we work together instead of against each other, peace will be our daily reality. One person can not bring peace to the whole world. It takes everyone starting with themselves first. Being at peace within themselves first, which in turn, leads to world peace.
While looking for powerful quotes on peace I came across two quotes: “If you want peace, be at peace” and “If you want peace, prepare for war.” To have peace choose the former (the first) quote. If we choose the latter (the second) quote, there will not be peace on earth. War does not bring peace, peace brings peace.
